T.R.C.P. 99(b) states that the citation accompanying the Petition shall direct the defendant to answer on or before 10:00 a.m. on the Monday next after the expiration of 20 days after the date of service. If the answer date is a state holiday on which the state courts are closed, then the answer is due the next business day. This Answer Date Calculator applies only to lawsuits in the State of Texas.
